Want to create your own Lists in Klout?

Lists help to keep you organized; and, there are three good reasons to create lists on Klout.
Lists will help you:
1) Interact with the people you care about
2) Discover new users and grow your network
3) See how you compare with your peers

How to Create an Influencer List on Klout

To create a list, follow these four (4) steps:
1. In the sidebar on the Topics and above your Klout Moments Interactors, you see an orange drop down menu option which says Create a New List. When you click this button, a new page appears. Click on the orange button that says Create List.  Give your list a name (required), a description if you desire, and tick the box where it asks Yes or No whether your list is private (only viewed by you).  Click Save Live.  This is where you can add people to the list you have created.  As you build lists, this is also where you can choose the list you want to view.
2.  To add an influencer to your list, type the person’s name into the provided field.  Klout will find the Klout account.  Click on the influencer from the drop down menu and click on Add.
3. Continue adding people to your list.
4. When finished, Click the orange Save button to create your list and close the pop-up window.
Your new list appears in the sidebar on the right side of your profile screen as a drop down choice for your viewing; or, if you did not make the list private you can choose to display it
Organizing Klout users into lists can help you compare people within a topic or industry, as well as analyze the Klout scores of existing groups of people.

What was the criteria beyond just number for this list? I love talking about the topic of influence, specifically micro influence as I don’t believe many people on Social Platforms have substantial influence across wide topics.
I think list posts are a great way to point out people, but I also think they are highly gamified to drive reaction.
Klout speaks much more to activity than influence in my opinion and I think there are a wide number of emerging applications that better server brands looking to understand influence. (Apparently I have a 74 on Klout and I couldn’t even tell you if that means anything)
Thanks for putting this together. I will say many people I like, know and respect are on the list.

      Thanks for commenting, Daniel.
This is a personal list which I compiled based on the people who I know personally, with whom I communicate with and respect for the work that they do. Just like in the website analytics world where we could compare GA with Alexa, Hubspot, or others – they differ in how they work, and they can always be gamified if someone chooses to do so. However, Klout, when used the way it was designed – can be a valuable resource for individuals, major brands and businesses who want to maximize and measure their influence through social platforms.
While there are other applications like Kred and PeerIndex who also measure influence, I’m sure we will see many more in the future as social media continues to play a large part in how we make connections and begin conversation with one another.
Did you read the followup post I made yesterday called Branding Results via Klout Lists?
      https://www.susangilbert.com/branding-results-via-klout-lists/
This will provide some additional insight into why I created the list and what the results of doing so were.

I think the more interesting developments are platforms like Appinions, InPowered and TapInfluence that are less concerned about activity and more interested in who can move the needle for brands.
Influencing the influencers and decision makers.
If you haven’t read Influence Marketing by @Dannybrown and @Samfiorella, I think that is really the best of what is out there on the subject and I definitely suggest checking it out.
Thanks for the great response and for working hard to make an impact for those trying to learn about the subject of influence and marketing in the digital economy.

I have read Influence Marketing and loved it. Thanks for recommending it to everyone here.
I have a knack for getting involved in unfolding trends – first the PC industry way back when, then the coffee industry before Starbucks was a household name, followed by self-publishing then online marketing and social media. Influence is indeed a new and unfolding topic that has become next on my list of passions and trends.
Thank you for contributing here, Daniel your conversation which enlightens us even further on this topic.
