Facebook Paper App Simplifies News Feeds
Would you like a quick and simple way to check your Facebook profile News Feed?
Well now you can with a new app release called, Paper. This is a clutter-free version of Facebook, which is similar to Flipboard, which is an aggregated news app.
The new Paper app pulls news directly from your Timeline, then organizes the stories, posts, video, ect. into an easy-to-view collection that can be swiped, and selected. Users can still ‘Like,’ comment, and share news right from the app.
Unlike Flipboard, which gathers from RSS feeds, Facebook’s app provides curated news only from its social platform, and encourages interaction and engagement. Themes are more broad on Paper, while Flipboard offers categories. In a recent advertisement on Facebook, the company’s goal is to “explore and share stories from friends and the world around you.”
Are you ready to try the new Paper app? Here are a few steps on how to get started:
1. Go to the Apple store
Currently the app is only available for iPhone users. Once you search for Facebook Paper, you are taken to this install screen:
2. Connect your Facebook Profile
If you are already using Facebook on your iPhone, and are signed in, then the app will automatically connect and proceed with step by step instructions on how to get started.
3. Choose your News Feed interests
Paper allows for easy selection of the stories that you want to see, which can be swiped to left or down for more images.
After trying out the new Paper app, users might find that it is easier to explore the news and updates that they want, quickly and easily. But you will still need to update your profile, and change its settings within Facebook itself.
If you love using Flipboard, then you might also enjoy Paper, with its new clean, and simple design, which is far different than the Facebook app.
