Watch your Twitter Activity Soar using Images
Over the last year Twitter has become more visual as it allows photos and video to be prominently displayed on tweets. According to a recent study by Sotrender tweets with pic.Twitter.com photos received 97% more retweets and 135% more favorites than standard ones.

According to a recent article on Twitter, tweets that generate the most engagement include hashtags and are further enhanced with photo or video. This in turn will increase the number of retweets, which is shown on their chart here:
Vine, in particular, can draw a lot of attention on Twitter. According to Sotrender’s study, these tweets generated 52% more retweets and 26% more favorites than regular ones. Here is a great example of how this video encouraged a large number:
Sotrener also found that Facebook or Instagram links performed below average, and especially those with Instagram links. It is better to either retweet from another user, or tweet an image or video directly with credit going to the original author or photographer.
These results show the high impact and effectiveness of visual content on Twitter. Test your tweets for a couple of weeks and watch how they perform versus your standard content, and make adjustments as necessary.
