Does Your Business Bio Have the Blahs?

window-163694_640When it comes to building your brand or business its important to remember that personality counts when focusing on standing out from the pack to your customers and potential leads. A great bio of you and/or your staff must be creative, yet also specific, and speak at a motivational level that resonates with people’s needs and emotions.
One of the biggest mistakes people make is a bio that is too lengthy. Being passionate about what you do is great, but when writing a story out of it you’ve now lost your readers’ attention. The key is to get focused, identify the most important points, and project that in a shorter more condensed fashion.

Here are several key points you can use to create a bio that stands out for your brand or business:
What’s the personality of your brand? – People want to relate to who you are. Determine what stands out the most about your business, and focus on that. This type of clarity and focus will help your business tremendously.
Define your brand or business culture – What do you represent the most to your audience? See what the competition is offering, and showcase how you are different from the rest. Emphasize the qualities your audience is attracted to the most.
• Showcase key accomplishments and publications – If your brand or business has received an award, published a book, or any other type of professional recognition you will want to include this in your bio. Keep is simple, short, and not as a sales message.
Keep your information current – Any change or new development in your company should be added or updated in your bio. Not everything should be set in stone, but rather leave room for flexibility.
The main key to a great bio is to make it personal, especially with the growing influence of social media. Once you make a human connection, people will perceive your brand or business as more professional and trustworthy. To be effective you must stay focus, keep your description short, and stand out from the rest of the competition.
